Mountain Cottage – SOLD!
Over the last year and a half, Freita and I have had time to totally renovate and remodel our home in the foothills of the North Carolina mountains. The small cottage is quietly nestled against the side of a mountain on a heavily wooded, 5 acre tract of land in the community of Buffalo Cove. Nearby are two stocked trout streams as well as NC State Gamelands. It’s located in the northeastern edge of Caldwell County about 35 minute from Boone – a beautiful drive down the Elk Creek Road . It is a short two hour drive from Charlotte, and only about an hour and a half from Greensboro.
A hiking trail twists and turns its way from the edge of the small side yard up to the top of the ridge in the middle of the 5 acres of woods (about a 10 minute hike).
Hiking sticks stand ready at the foot of the cottage stairs.
“Before and After” photos (If I have to tell you which ones are the “Before” and which ones are the “After”, then we didn’t do a very good job remodeling!)
The stone column mailbox and planter greet you at the road.
Deer feed in the yard. View from the deck just before sunrise.

Wow, Dad and Mom I’m so glad to see the before and after. I can’t wait to come stay there! The windows make such a big difference, more than I imagined that they would.
